Jebus that's a lot of parts!

Neil, I would be VERY interested in keeping up to date on the little OW build.
Us tall'ish blokes have a slight amount of trouble with most OW'ers...

I think the TX44's are the ultra low friction 4 way adjustables. I saw them on some GT3/2 cars but no where else.
Lurch, you are more than welcome to join the fun.

Ahh okay i think we are talking about the same shocks, quick google search shows dampers that are ttx44s. The tt(x)40 were an even lower friction damper then the the 44s but they were alot more fragile and less adjustable, K-mart used them to do the 2.06 at bathurst and FPR were the only other team to run them until the sachs came out. (bit of worthless info...)

Any idea what the Indy Cars run? For comparison my 400kg car has 800lb/inch springs.

Not Formula 3 or Formula 3000, but a one make Formula Asia style series. Reported to be on the slow side in comparison to a club level F3.

Wheel rate or spring rate? Indy cars have a 2.5 - 2.9: motion ration multiplier due tot he bellcrank ratio. The springs I believe can be in the 500-900lb range, which will give a wheel rate much much higher. Wheel rates on ovals are around 2200lb/in I believe.

I guess I was interested in both, but for those of you who were looking at the shocks, the spring rates that the shocks usually work with would be what matter.

One thing that I thought was clever about my car was that the motion ratios were worked so that the same spring rate is used front and rear. Is this uncommon for racing cars?

Rob Moody runs a Cheetah in hill climbs in Vic, very nice bloke. Orange car with supercharged 4AGE on methanol. Rob recently made new wings for the back - a very good effort with aluminium - it would have driven me mad!
