[BNE] Looking for work -- Maybe I.T related?
Hi,
I am currently looking for new employment as I am unhappy with my current workplace environment, management and the direction the company is taking. Although my skillset is primarily I.T related, I would be greatly interested in a career change to a completely different field. I have been doing I.T for around 6 years and feel that I am getting sick of the industry and surrounding mentality. -- This 'may' be simply the experiences I have had and might not reflect the field as a whole. I am after something that is challenging and difficult. Something that my current workplace is lacking as everything seems 'all too easy' for me. I am no longer learning anything in my current workplace. My current role would be considered an extended Service Desk: * Provide End User support to Clients * Troubleshoot and resolve workstation, server and network issues * Complete proactive maintenance tasks * Maintain and build on proactive monitoring and automation toolset. (Kaseya) * Configure Cisco devices for WAN, LAN, VPN, etc. * Internally administer I.T systems I have skills in the following areas: * Microsoft Server Operating Systems * Cisco IOS (Mainly dealing with 877W's atm) * Kaseya (Proactive monitoring and automation) As stated, I'm looking for a new job but possibly a career change. I will take any suggestions as to what I might be suited for as well. Any help would be fantastic. |

Don't forget to mention Connectwise, service automation, ITIL foundations and a strong Networking Background. In my opinion you are selling yourself short with the above summary of your skills.
I can vouch for RTFM as someone who has taught me a great deal and i wouldn't be where i am without him. I do believe that his current workplace has jaded him with the age old "my way or the high way" from managers who do not have a employees interests at heart. That being said everyone needs a change. He is very reliable, very honest and very trustworthy. Above all he is a very good problem solver and i personally think would make a good senior tech or team leader. Pay him good, so he can piss of his broke ass sigma and buy a decent car. |

Update: Quit my job today. I decided I was better off without one than putting up with that place.
As a result, I'm very much open to any offers! ![]() PS: Thank you for your praise Deus Ex. Last edited by RTFM; 02-11-09 at 01:30 AM. |
